Community Groups
Attachment Village Create an Attachment Village with a small group of parents. This is an opportunity to get together in an intimate setting over a period of time (4-6 two-hour sessions). Ideally, the group would already have some familiarity with one another and be like-minded in their parenting approach. The point of the sessions are to learn about attachment methodology, get practical advise on how to apply a developmental approach at home, and work together to develop a support system or “attachment village” whom they and their children can feel connected to. Topics for discussion include: •Societal challenges and how they effect the ways we connect and interact with children •Comparison of behavioral and developmental approaches •Strategies for connecting and interaction with children •Why children say “no”, the purpose of counterwill, and how to transform counterwill. •The role of frustration in aggressive behavior and how to help children adapt •Attachment safe and developmentally friendly discipline strategies Community Workshops A variety of workshops are offered to community groups that focus on the discussion topics listed above. |
